Vegan Alfredo Sauce Recipe
Alfredo sauce is a creamy, savory sauce traditionally made with butter, cream, and Parmesan cheese. This vegan version is just as delicious and will satisfy anyone's craving for Alfredo sauce!
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup plain unsweetened almond milk
- 1/4 cup vegan butter
Instructions:
- Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and sauté until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the flour and stir for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in the vegetable broth, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth.
- Stir in the nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the sauce from the heat and stir in the almond milk and vegan butter until combined.
